Symbiosis Law School, Nagpur has organized Guest Lecture on “Gender Sensitization” during the orientation programme of 2019-2024 Batch. Dr. Rekha Pande, Director, Centre for Women Studies and Professor of History at University of Hyderabad was invited as resource person.
Dr. Rekha Pande was welcomed and felicitated with a memento by Dr. Sukhvinder Singh Dari, Director, Symbiosis Law School, Nagpur. Ms. Aditee Godbole, Assistant Professor, Symbiosis Law School, Nagpur. introduced the guest.
Dr. Rekha Pande in her lecture discussed that Gender sensitization is one basic requirement for the normal development of an individual. Without being sensitive to the needs of a particular gender, an individual may refrain from understanding the opposite gender and in some acute cases him or herself. The need for this sensitivity has been felt and realized through times immemorial and in almost all kinds of human existence, across the globe.
Dr. Rekha Pande during her lecture thrive light upon issues and challenges and sensitized the students about the development of sensitivity towards women in the context of historical development and the importance of the role of women in the development of the society.
The lecture was followed by an interactive session. The Guest speaker appreciated the enthusiasm and interest of the students.
The lecture ended with the vote of thanks proposed by Ms. Aditee Godbole, Assistant Professor, Symbiosis Law School, Nagpur.
