REPORT OF WORKSHOP ON ‘MOOTING SKILLS’ ORGANISED BY MOOT COURT ASSOCIATION

On 15th September, 2019, a Workshop on ‘Mooting Skills’ was organized for the students of law. The workshop was held in the Moot Court Hall of Symbiosis Law School, Nagpur from 10 AM to 3 PM. The resource persons for the workshop were Advocate Shreya Seth, Associate, Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas, along with Advocate Jatin Kumar, practicing advocate and an LL.M. student at SLS, Nagpur and Mr. Atharva Aryan Singh, a final year student of SLS, Hyderabad. The Speakers were formally introduced by Ms. Ragini (LL.B. I Semester student).

Ms. Shreya Seth elaborately discussed the meaning, role and importance of participating in Moot Court Competitions. She elaborated upon the manner in which a Memorial is to be drafted and also articulated the importance of research while drafting the memorial. The second resource person enlightened the students upon the dos and donts which are to be taken care of while arguing a case in a Mock Court. The third resource person shared his person tryst with Mooting in National and International Competitions and encouraged the students to utilize their free time judiciously right from the first semester. The students had plethora of questions for each speaker, which were answered by them to the student’s satisfaction. After an interactive session, the vote of thanks was proposed by Mr. Kumar Shivam (LL.B. I Semester student) and the workshop was concluded after the recitation of National Anthem.

The workshop was organized and coordinated by the Moot Court Association and the Research and Publication Cell at SLS, Nagpur and was attended by the students of SLS, Nagpur along with the students from other law colleges across Nagpur.
