Symbiosis Centre for Consumer Protection

About the Cell:

This Centre for Consumer Rights Awareness is proposed to be established in the year 2023 by the Symbiosis Law School, Nagpur. This cell as proposed shall be directed towards specialization in studies in the field of consumer rights which includes various aspects concerning consumer rights in India. In the era of rapid consumerism, the CRW seeks to establish the sense of awareness amongst the students of SLS, Nagpur as well as in the vicinity of the campus about their rights & stakes.

Aims and Objectives:

To create a highly ethical consumer market in the campus by putting up suggestion boxes in the campus To create mock trials throughout the year to create practical awareness amongst the students on how to file a consumer complaint and to make them understand the mechanism on how consumer courts work To deliver the importance of consumerism by methods of work shops, seminars by experts in the field.

To organise fests and raise funds for the cell by tie-ing up with companies to spread awareness campaigns outside the campus To curb the maladies of business driven by a higher profit motive to exploit the customers to the maximum extent possible.
