Our integrated Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Laws (BA-LL.B.) program offers a comprehensive exploration of the historical evolution of legal systems, the political dynamics shaping legal policies, and the intricate relationship between legislation and societal challenges. This program is designed to cultivate socially responsible legal professionals, equipped with the analytical skills and ethical framework necessary to advocate for justice and drive meaningful societal change.

Programme Objectives:

Eligibility BA. LL.B:

Standard XII(10+2) passed from any recognized board with minimun 45% marks or equivalent grade (40% marks or equivalent grade for Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribes).

Intake

The total intake is 240 seats [Inclusive of 120 seats of BA. LL. B]

Separate Merit Lists for BA.LLB programmes will be prepared and published. At the time of SLAT registration, it shall be mandatory for the candidates to clearly indicate the programme to which they wish to apply.

Note: It is suggested that those candidates who have studied arts/social sciences subjects for their qualifying examination may apply for BA. LL.B programme. Similarly, those candidates who have studied commerce/accounts/mathematics may apply for BBA. LLB programme. The candidates are free to make their own choice depending on their ability, interest & opportunity. Please note that these two programmes differ only in First Degree subject (either Humanities OR Business Law) whereas the same Law courses are offered to both the programmes. Graduates in both streams are eligible for diverse legal career & opportunities including Corprate, Lawyering, Civil Services, Advocacy, Judiciary, Academic, International Organization Jobs, and International Admissions etc.

Nagpur Domicile (SLS, Nagpur)

I. Reservation of seats for Nagpur Domicile (SLS, Nagpur)
(25% of seats within the sanctioned intake – Only in case of Constituents at Off-Campus Centre, Nagpur)

In accordance with Clause A of Schedule C of the Lease Deed signed between Nagpur Municipal Corporation, Nagpur and Symbiosis, Pune on 4th September, 2017, the University has reserved 25% seats against the approved intake in each programme offered at the Off-campus Centre of the University at Nagpur for Nagpur Domiciled candidates.

The definition for Nagpur Domicile is:

‘Nagpur Domiciled’ means candidates who are domiciled in Nagpur for a period of five (5) years as on the date of commencement of the academic year and who:

  • (a) are or will be graduates or students of Nagpur University, and/or
  • (b) are recipients of school certificates from the Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education, the Council of Indian School Certificate Examinations, and/ or the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE)/ ICSE Board.

While giving admission under the Nagpur Domicile category:

  • Residence Criterion: Resident of Nagpur Urban for five continuous or intermittent years is mandatory.
  • Educational Criterion: The candidate should fulfil one of the following:
    • (a) Graduate or pursuing graduation from Nagpur University – OR –
    • (b) Should have school certificates (10th and 12th) from:
    • (i) Maharashtra Board
    • (ii) CISCE
    • (iii) CBSE
    • (iv) ICSE
    • Note: 10th and 12th certificates from other State Boards or foreign school boards are NOT accepted.
