Theme: Anti-Ragging and Anti-Cyberbullying

As part of its ongoing commitment to fostering a safe, inclusive, and respectful learning environment, Symbiosis Law School, Nagpur organised two impactful competitions under the theme of Anti-Ragging and Anti-Cyberbullying on 31st July 2025 in the Assembly Hall. These events aimed to create awareness among students about the detrimental effects of ragging and cyberbullying, while encouraging them to creatively and critically express their ideas for building a supportive campus culture.
1. Poster Making Competition
The first event of the day was the Hand-Drawn Poster Making Competition on the theme Anti-Ragging and Anti-Cyberbullying, held from 2:00 PM to 2:30 PM. Participants showcased their artistic skills by creating hand-drawn posters that communicated strong anti-ragging messages.
The judging criteria focused on creativity, clarity of message, and visual impact. Students presented thought-provoking and visually appealing posters, many of which depicted unity, empathy, and the harmful consequences of harassment in academic spaces.
2. On-the-Spot Essay Writing Competition
Following the poster competition, the Essay Writing Competition commenced from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM on the topic “The Need for a Ragging-Free Educational Environment”. The competition tested participants’ originality, coherence, relevance, and the overall impact of their arguments.
Students wrote compelling essays addressing the physical, emotional, and academic harm caused by ragging, as well as proposing constructive measures to ensure a safe and welcoming atmosphere for all. The essays reflected diverse perspectives, from legal frameworks to moral responsibility and community engagement.
Outcome and Impact
Both competitions successfully engaged students in meaningful discourse about anti-ragging and anti-cyberbullying measures. The activities not only showcased their creativity and analytical thinking but also reinforced the collective responsibility of maintaining a respectful and secure campus.
Through these initiatives, Symbiosis Law School, Nagpur reaffirmed its stance against ragging and cyberbullying, promoting the values of peace, justice, and strong institutions in alignment with SDG 16.
