Symbiosis Law School, Nagpur Celebrates 79th Independence Day

15 August 2025, Nagpur – Symbiosis Law School, Nagpur, celebrated the 79th Independence Day at the Symbiosis International (Deemed University) Nagpur Off-Campus with great joy and patriotic fervour. The occasion brought together faculty, staff, and students from all institutes on the campus to honour the spirit of freedom and unity.

The event was graced by several dignitaries, including; Dr. Sukhvinder Badan Singh Dari, Campus Director & Director, Symbiosis Law School, Nagpur; Dr. Shailesh Rastogi, Director, SIBM Nagpur, Dr. Nandini Kulkarni, Officiating Director, SSPAD Nagpur; Dr. Sameer Pingle, Director, SCMS Nagpur; Dr. Jaiprakash M. Paliwal, Director, SCSD Nagpur; and Col Maneesh Saxena (Retd), Campus Administrator, Nagpur Campus. All teaching and administrative staff from the respective institutes were also present.

Prof. (Dr.) Shailesh Rastogi, in his address, not only reflected on India’s leadership in the G20 Presidency, the remarkable achievements of Operation Sindoor also highlighted several other recent milestones that make every Indian proud.

He spoke about Group Captain Shubhanshu Shukla, who became the first Indian astronaut to travel to the International Space Station (ISS), carrying out vital scientific experiments and symbolically presenting the Indian tricolour to the Prime Minister upon his return. He also emphasized the stellar progress of ISRO, with all 55 satellites functioning under Operation Sindoor, and India’s bold plans for a space station by 2035 and a crewed lunar mission by 2040.

Turning to the economy, Dr. Rastogi pointed out India’s historic crossing of the US $4 trillion GDP mark, making it the world’s fourth-largest economy, and the recent upgrade in India’s sovereign credit rating, which reflects international confidence in the nation’s growth story.

He further lauded India’s strides in cutting-edge technology, such as the establishment of the country’s first drone forensic laboratory in Lucknow to strengthen national security, the unveiling of India’s first full-stack quantum computer "Indus", and the development of BharatGen AI, a multilingual artificial intelligence model to promote inclusivity and digital independence.

Finally, he proudly mentioned India’s emergence as a front-runner to host the 2030 Commonwealth Games, showcasing the nation’s rising global stature in sports and infrastructure.

Following the address, students from various institutes of the Nagpur campus presented a vibrant cultural programme. Traditional dance performances celebrated India’s rich and diverse heritage, while the highlight of the event was a powerful theatrical play depicting the nation’s journey to independence.

The celebrations concluded with a heartfelt rendition of “Vande Mataram” and resounding chants of “Jai Hind” that reverberated through the auditorium, leaving all attendees with a renewed sense of pride and commitment to the nation.
