GUEST LECTURE ON Expectation Management and Challenges of a Corporate Lawyer

The Placement Cell of Symbiosis Law School, Nagpur organized the Guest Lecture on “Expectation Management and Challenges of a Corporate Lawyer” on 15th January, 2020 at the Moot Court Hall. Rajesh Narain Gupta - Managing Partner, SNG & Partners was invited as the Guest Speaker.

Mr. Rajesh Narain Gupta - Managing Partner, SNG & Partners was welcomed by Prof. Sayalee Surjuse, Assistant Professor, and felicitated by Dr. Salu D’Souza, Assistant Professor, Symbiosis Law School, Nagpur with a memento. Mr. Rajesh Narain Gupta is the Managing Partner of the firm, SNG & Partners. His area of specialization includes Banking and Finance, Commercial Laws, Real Estate and Private Client Practice. He is an advisor to a number of foreign and Indian Banks, Financial Institutions, Corporate and Industrial Houses and Real Estate players. He has been a pioneer in India in Succession & Estate Planning. He has widely contributed and been a pioneer in the area of private wealth laws and advised Ultra HNIs and HNIs on matters connected with Business and Personal Succession Planning. Mr. Rajesh works closely with several promoter families and advises them regularly on strategic issues.

Mr. Rajesh Narain Gupta commenced his session by sharing his experience and the significance of a Dream and Vision, also the execution of the action plan to manifest the dreams and vision. He further elaborated on the subject of relevance of Integrity. He stressed on the reputational risk faced by a lawyer. He also debated the idea of I know all vs. Specialization. The unique pedagogy of using anecdotes and short stories to explain the Acts was well received by the students. He exhorted the students for Out-of-box thinking in his own unique style of story-telling. He also pointed the areas available for young lawyers for their legal practice. He further discussed the other challenges faced by lawyers like picking the Right Law Firm. He brought about the impact of commitment on time and hard work. His anecdote on the importance of perseverance had everybody smiling while driving home the point. The Guest speaker appreciated the keenness and interest of the students. The lecture ended with the vote of thanks proposed by Dr. Salu D’Souza, Assistant Professor, Symbiosis Law School.
