It has been a year-long pursuit, originally conceived in a hostel room of Symbiosis Law School, Nagpur with a lot of conviction and enthusiasm, to start a law review. For us, the student editors, it had been a source of concern or even dismay that the practical initiation of this effortlessly conceived idea took a whole one year. But looking back at the past year, it has been a humbling experience to encounter first-hand how even the most spontaneous and best of ideas take time, effort and dedication to become a tangible outcome. As students of Symbiosis Law School Nagpur, it has been quite a delight and privilege to be part of its first ever batch. It has given us the platform to embark upon a journey that we hope would be exciting as well as enriching. This law review was an attempt to have an open dialogue with other law aspirants of the county as well as with esteemed legal personnel so as to exchange perceptions and opinions, to learn and know more. It is an active pursuit to assert as well as accept, to say as well as to listen and in the process, do better and be better. Our first issue comes at a time when the world is at an uncertain juncture. It comes at a time when we as a people are collectively grappling with the realities of a pandemic. It comes at a time when we feel a need to be together more than ever. What has been observed, debated and deliberated is this one fact that the current pandemic is not merely a biological phenomenon; it is all encompassing and has profound effects on our laws, our politics, our government and economy—clearly yet another example of how no universal phenomenon can alienate law and in extension, this field of study that we have embarked upon. It is in this context that the editorial board wanted to clarify the nature of the law review to be multidisciplinary and justifiably so. Hence with a lot of hope and good will, we publish our first ever issue of the SLS-N Multidisciplinary Law Review.
